Observe food safety

Avoid eating fruits that have bruising or holes because fruit bats, who are frequent hosts of the Nipah virus, may bite them. Before eating, be sure to wash fruits in hot water and peel them.

Avoid close contact

Avoid being in close proximity to infected people, especially those who are exhibiting symptoms.

Use soap to wash your hands.

Washing your hands frequently with soap and water can help lower the chance of contracting an infection by encouraging good personal hygiene.

Vaccinate yourself

If there is an infectious person around, quarantining yourself is one of the best ways to prevent getting sick.
